Building safer, healthier communities with essential services close to home.
I’ve spent years bringing people together and advocating for those who need support. I'll fight for stronger local services, safer neighbourhoods and a community where everyone can access the care and support they need, when they need it. Things like:
-
A police station that's open: Mornington's police counter closes at 4:30pm every day. I'll push for it to stay open, in line with community expectations, until 10pm, seven days a week, and 24 hours on summer weekends.
-
Somewhere safe to go: Mornington and the greater Peninsula have no State-funded crisis accommodation for women and children escaping violence. Breaches of family violence orders on the Peninsula are at a ten-year high and rising. I'll push for the State to fund safe, secure and suitable crisis accommodation.
-
Mental health help close to home: The State promised 50 local mental health services. It delivered 22, and none on the Peninsula. I'll push for a free, walk-in service here for young people and families.
