Fair Share

Fighting for the investment our Peninsula deserves.

Mornington has been overlooked for too long. As a local business owner and community advocate, I know our community deserves its fair share of government investment. I’ll fight to secure the funding, infrastructure and services our growing Peninsula needs, including:

  • The Fair Share Act: Our community knows what it's like to be left behind. I'll push for a Fair Share Act so every Victoria community can what it gets, and why: funding published by electorate every year, decisions based on need, and any exception explained, regardless of who is in power.
  • Roads: Our State roads have the worst repair backlog in metro Melbourne, and potholes waiting for repair have jumped more than tenfold in 18 months. I'll push for the backlog to be cleared within a year, and $3.5M to fix our three most dangerous intersections: Bungower Road, Craigie Road and Wooralla Drive.

  • Grants and levies: 7.9 million visitors a year, yet with a metropolitan classification the Peninsula is shut out of regional tourism and development grants. I'll push for carve-outs that give us access to funding that reflects our unique needs, without the need for a reclassification that would put our green wedge at risk.

  • Sport and arts: I'll push for $7M to finish Emil Madsen Reserve, $20M to expand the basketball stadium shared by Mornington Secondary College and our local basketball association, and a design for a performing arts centre in Mornington to serve the Peninsula's 30 dance schools, 20 choirs and 10 theatre groups.
