End Government Corruption

Putting transparency, accountability and community before party politics.

Our community deserves an honest, accountable government that works for the people it represents. I will stand up for greater transparency, challenge political self-interest and put the needs of Mornington residents ahead of party politics. This includes:

  • Give IBAC real authority: I’ll push for 'follow the dollar' powers, lower the threshold for public IBAC hearings, and lower the requirements for IBAC investigations to stamp out corruption. I’ll introduce legislation to tighten the definition of corruption, and fix Victoria's slow and cumbersome FOI system.

  • Know who ministers meet: Ministers' meetings are published only every three months, under rules the Premier can change at will - leaving Victorians in the dark about who is lobbying our government. I'll introduce a bill requiring ministers to publish every meeting with outside interests monthly, and I'll publish my own diary from day one.

  • Councils that answer to you: Four years in the bottom 25% of the state for on-time planning decisions, delaying essential upgrades and building modifications. I'll push for council performance across the state to be independently audited, not self-reported, using consistent measures, so ratepayers can hold their Councils to account.
