Making everyday life more affordable for Peninsula families.
As a former teacher and local business owner, I understand the pressures facing local households. I'll fight for practical solutions that ease cost-of-living pressures and help families, workers and older residents get ahead. I’ll push for:
-
Local help for local people: Four rate rises this year, and mortgage stress at an 18-year high. I'll push for $500,000 for the Mornington Community Support Centre to meet the fast growing need for food relief, emergency accommodation, service navigation and a safe place to land when there’s nowhere else to go.
-
Lower power bills: Wholesale power prices have fallen, yet Peninsula families haven’t seen the savings. I’ll push to make sure the savings reach your bill, starting with free midday power for everyone that’s standard, not opt-in. A Liberal–One Nation government would bet on new gas that takes years to deliver and ties our bills to volatile overseas markets. That’s a risk to every family’s power bill. I’ll back cheap, home-grown, renewable power that secures our energy independence and our future.
-
Public transport: I will work with the community to understand the gaps, and increase services that support access to employment and community connection.
