Investing in great local schools and brighter futures for our children.
- Fund schools on need, in the open. Publish every school's condition score each year, fund the worst first, and record why each school was chosen.
-
$20 million each for Mt Eliza Secondary and Mornington Secondary. Master plans for both in year one, then the rebuilds:
- Mornington: replace the relocatables, and build new basketball courts for the school and the Mornington basketball club.
- Mt Eliza: new sporting facilities, a performing arts space, a senior learning space and a new food technology area.
- Help that arrives when schools ask for it. A set deadline for the Department to respond with an assessment and a plan, reported publicly. And clear authority for principals to act on behaviour early.
- Specialist places and alternative pathways. Publish local demand, fund more places on the Peninsula, and create alternative settings for kids for whom mainstream isn't working.
- A qualified psychologist in every Peninsula government secondary school, fully funded, plus early-intervention staff, speech therapists and OTs in our primary schools.
- Kinder buildings ready for demand.
